A confidant is that person you can discuss your secret matters or problems with and trust him or her not to disclose it to others. A good confidant listens attentively to you without being judgmental, gives you suggestions when you run out ideas, advices you, is trustworthy and even protects your interest.
Your confidant knows your weaknesses and strengths, your fears, failures, joys and secret thoughts; not only because you are not afraid to discuss them with him or her but also the word privacy, is truly and completely understood.
As has been noted above, being a confidant obviously requires a lot of integrity. Who do you consider your confidant?
