Naivety is a lack of experience, innocence, and judgment. It can make people be gullible and cause others to easily take advantage of them. There are various reason believed to be the cause of naivety.

naivety

Some blame it on seclusion of oneself, not mixing up or interacting with other people. However, some others feel that it comes with a child’s upbringing. For instance, when children are raised by parents who shield them too much from the world. Also, parents feeding their children information on every question concerning life’s issues rather than allowing them to discover certain things by themselves. All of this could contribute to naivety.

Normally, when children are growing up, there are certain things they are not expected to know simply because they have not gathered enough life experience, unlike a full-grown adult. Nevertheless, naivety becomes a problem when an adult is still inexperienced, gullible, and behaves or thinks in a child-like manner.
