Motivation is the act or process of giving someone a reason(s) to do something. It is what stimulates or inspires you to do something or act in a particular way. People can be motivated to sing, dance, give in their best to achieve a goal, study, and so on.
In the same way, individuals are different from one another, so are the things that motivate them. For instance, some people are motivated to work because of their interest or personal satisfaction derived from a job while some others are motivated by money which is a reward that comes with work. Furthermore, some students study to pass an exam because of advancement while others do so because of peer competition.
All in all, a lot of factors can motivate one to do something but it is advisable that your motivations should be for the right reasons.
