Alcohol is a liquid which is obtained when sugar and starches are fermented. It is a flammable and volatile liquid. Alcohol is a major constituent of many drinks such as beer, wine, spirits, whiskey, and so on. These drinks can be intoxicating when taken in excess.
Alcohol has its effects on health. Excess and long-term alcohol consumption can cause the inflammation of the liver which results in liver cirrhosis. Also, longterm alcohol consumption has been linked to other health issues such as cancer, behavior changes, infertility, diabetes, birth defects, and so on.
Alcoholism; which is a dependency on alcohol as a result of excessive and longterm consumption does not only result in health issues but also it can cause you to lose your job, relationships and even run into other unforeseen circumstances.
