Vegetables are the edible parts of a plant. Such edible parts include leaves, flowers, stems, roots and so on. Some examples of vegetables are tomatoes, carrot, cucumber. lettuce, spinach, broccoli, and so many others.

When used alongside meals, they can be eaten either cooked or sometimes in their raw form. Vegetables are low in calories and fats. This is beneficial for those who do not want to consume high-calorie diets to avoid weight gain.


Furthermore, vegetables are important sources of vitamins and minerals. They are rich in vitamins A, B, C, K. They contain a lot of potassium, calcium, folic acid, iron, Magnesium, dietary fiber and so on. They have very important health benefits such as cholesterol reduction, the formation of healthy red blood cells, reducing risks of cancer, stroke, heart diseases, and for general maintenance of good health.


As can be seen, vegetables are very important for good health, it therefore wise to make them part of your everyday meal.
