A dessert is a sweet dish usually served as the final course of a meal. It has its root from the French word “dessevir” which means to clear the table. Some examples of desserts include pudding, tarts, cake, cookies, custard, waffle, sundae, gelato, pies, fruits, and so much more.
The idea of having a dessert after the main meal is to help in digestion of food especially after you must have had a heavy meal.
However, in some parts of the world, eating desserts as part of a meal is a standard practice both while eating at home or in the restaurants. However, in other parts of the world, having a dessert after the main meal is not just unpopular but also unattainable due to poverty and harsh economic conditions.
A dessert after a meal is good. It brings a feeling of joy and satisfaction after a meal. Also, a healthy dessert can be beneficial to the maintenance of good health.
