<Oxidation of molecules can cause the production of free radicals which are capable of causing damage to the cells in the body. However, there are substances that can prevent the effects of free radicals.

Antioxidants are substances that protect the body from the harmful damages caused by free radicals. They are mostly found in fresh fruits and vegetables. Some examples include Vitamins C, E, Beta-carotenes, manganese, selenium, polyphenols, flavonoids, glutathione, and so on.


Antioxidants are powerful and very important to keep your cells healthy in order to maintain good health. They can help prevent heart disease, cancer, memory loss and so on.


All in all, daily and adequate consumption of fruits and vegetables; which are rich sources of antioxidants, is a step in the right direction to your good health.
