Allergy is the hypersensitivity of the body to certain substances such as pollen, a particular type of food, fur, drugs, and some animals. Allergies spark off immune system reactions in certain highly sensitive and exaggerated ways such as swelling of lips, tongue, and face.
Other forms of reaction include itchiness, difficulty in breathing, sneezing, skin rashes, runny nose, and so many others. Sometimes reactions can be mild and other times they can be severe.
The simple way to avoid allergic reactions is to avoid those things that you react to; if you already know them. However in other cases; usually when allergic reactions occur, there are some over-the-counter prescription medications but in severe cases, a doctor administers injections to stop the reaction.
