Abuse can be defined as an improper or excessive use of drugs or substances which are harmful to someone or other people around them. Abuse can also be related to excessive use of power which can result in maltreatment from one person to another.
Abuse can be in different forms. It could be sexual abuse in which a person forces another person to have sex with them. It can also be physical abuse, whereby someone intentionally inflicts injury upon another person. Again, it can be child abuse in which parent, teacher or caregiver maltreats a child physically, sexually, and so on.
In whatever form an abuse happens,it is devastating. It can lead to low self-esteem, poor mental and physical health outcomes.
