Taxi 

A taxi is a vehicle that is licensed for transporting passengers from one destination to another in return for payment of a fare. It is sometimes called a taxicab, taxi, or cab. In different countries of the world, different brands and models of cars are used for taxi business.

For instance, a saloon car, a minibus, and even limousines can be used as a taxi. However, in most cases, these taxis have to be booked in advance while for some other places, you might be able to get a saloon taxi on the spot.

Taxi fares can be relatively cheap or expensive. Some taxis; especially in big cities of the world, use a meter to calculate the distance covered and charge their fare. In some developing countries, meters are not used, however, fares are fixed for a particular distance covered.

Taxi driving is a job that requires one to have good driving skills and drive responsibly. It is filled with more of male drivers than female. It is not quite certain why it is so but this is not to say that there are no good female taxi drivers around.
