Do you wonder why some people go into certain relationships they should not go into? The reason sometimes, is due to benefits. The word "hidden",is the past participle of the verb hide, which means to conceal.
A benefit is an advantage or profit gained. Hidden benefits in connection to relationships are concealed profits or advantages that could be gained by one party from a relationship.
Some people start a relationship with others; either romantic or platonic, for the sake of what can be gained and not because of like for that person. For example, befriending other people of a higher social class to favor a political ambition.
There are other instances, however, it is important to note that people who go into relationships for their own hidden benefits can be fake and pretentious. Such people should be avoided once noticed.
