A heritage is anything that is handed down to someone from one generation to another. Several things are handed down to people as part of their heritage. It could be cultural practices like language.
It can also be instructions on forbidden acts. Furthermore, honor and pride of a family, which the owners of tradition do not want to discard are as well handed down. These practices could be highly regarded and therefore has to be protected.
Other things that can serve as a heritage are properties such as buildings, portions of land, business empires, fortune left to an heir, some artworks, and so on.
Heritage plays a very important role in life. Some heritage serves as an identity to a particular people. Heritage also gives the people it has been passed unto, a sense of attachment and responsibility to guard and protect it.
Every good heritage deserves to be protected.
